In September 15 of 1959, making real the ideals of the chemist Francisco Pontes Corrêa Filho, the Brazilian Pavement Association was founded.

Its goal: to find out the best pavement techniques for our country, till then following foreigner manual that didn’t take in consideration the peculiarities of our many regions

The search for new techniques and proper materials for our country has been the main objective. For this, we began to create specialists and promote an Annual Congress of Pavement

With an ever-growing number of members (today more than 2000) we had 38 Congresses, 6 international symposiums and 14 Urban Pavement Meetings as well many courses, debates, etc.

Even though the country goes through a crisis, the ABPv is always ready, with an ever growing patrimony, an auditory, a library, secretary, and News Bulletin. Everything perfectly organized to attend the associates in all their needs in the best possible way.
